Kanye Is Tweeting Again, Round 3: Ariana Grande And Mental Health
I wanna start off by saying this, Kanye is talking about some very import than things in regards to mental health and mental health issues in those tweets. He knows better than just about anybody that people love to call other people crazy and leave it at that.
It reminded me of this fantastic Dave Chappelle clip
Mental health issues is one of those things that society is still trying to wrap its arms around and make people aware that it’s a very real thing people have. It’s gotten wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better, which is obviously good, but there’s still a long way to go. That’s all Kanye is saying really. Comparing it to homophobia in hip hop was a good example because we are gonna look back in 10-15 years and some of the things people said are gonna look not-so-great. I don’t think those things should be pulled out of context in 2029 and the person who said those things should be dragged through the mud, I’m just saying it’s going to happen like it’s happening now with homophobia.
The part about Kanye saying he can’t make Watch The Throne or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy-level music on medication made me feel like shit. All of us are always like, “Go back to old Kanye! Give us that old stuff man!” and meanwhile Kanye is like, “Guys, my head is fucked up. I know I make amazing, all-time music without meds but without meds I also feel like I’m going insane.” Like yeah, selfishly I’d love another MBDTF-type album but do I want it so badly that I want Kanye off his meds and being destructive towards himself and everyone around him? My answer to that is no but some people might feel differently.
With all that said, Kanye needs to stop being such a pussy when it comes to what Ariana Grande tweeted when he was going off on Drake the other night
That cannot be the line. It just can’t be. If that’s the line where it’s too far to make fun of someone who is firing off 8,000 tweets about beef he has with another celebrity, we all might as well pack our shit and go home. Jokes and ball busting are dead. Ariana Grande didn’t really say anything at all. She took a very light sarcastic jab at Kanye and Drake and promoted her song with Miley. That’s it. Kanye is reacting like she tweeted, “Fuck this nutso whack job. What the hell is that lunatic even talking about? My timeline is crazy right now. Listen to my new song!” Kanye would’ve had a legitimate beef if she said that but she didn’t. I’m all for mental health awareness but Kanye taking offense to that “slight” and saying it was out of bounds because she doesn’t know what he’s going through is bullshit.
Kanye also might’ve found Jesus and might become a priest
